Darioush 'Darius II', Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, 2003
The Crown Jewel of the Darioush estate, Darius II is hand-selected from several barrel lots that possess an exquisite beauty and purity of character from this property.
The 2003 label:
The hand-carved detail within this label art originated from a stone wall carving in the Golestan Palace in Tehran. The art is found amongst floral and pictorial tile revetments in a large reception hall.
Blessed with lovely violet, wild blackberry and roasted espresso aromas, this captivating wine fills the palate with luscious, sweet black currant, licorice and bittersweet chocolate flavors, followed by an exotic mix of spices. The wine’s beautiful concentration and seamlessly integrated tannins provide a regal measure of finesse and elegance to lingering, velvety finish.
