A proudly and defiantly traditional producer across the heartland of Burgundy, Yves Confuron can trace his viticultural roots to family members in the 17th century. Now, in the modern age when many purist collectors lament the perfectly polished swagger of many producers and yearn for rugged intensity, his wines carry a touch of his ancestors’ spirits.
 
Having always worked organically, long before his countless neighbours pursued these practices, the style of Confuron is instantly recognisable and consistently loved by his ardent fans. Another of his idiosyncratic tenants is a belief that only by picking fruit as ripe as the vintage will possibly allow and fermenting the whole bunches can a vigneron truly display the sense of vintage and terroir purely.

This 2016 is showing a gorgeous bouquet with perfumed black cherry & blackberry fruit, wilter iris petals, lavander & an intense baking spice scent. It is seductive, silky and dangerously drinkable.
